Internship Graphic Design Social Media Merchandise Design Print & Production

New York City
Department of Transportation

TIMELINE

June 2025 - August 2025

Reflection

At the NYC Department of Transportation, I worked across publication design, social media marketing, merchandise, and print & production design for citywide initiatives, including the NYC Accessibility Guide, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade tickets, street sign drop promotions, and event signage.

Designing for New Yorkers across different ages, abilities, and communities taught me to balance creativity with clarity and accessibility. Seeing my work come to life throughout the city made me realize how much design can impact people's everyday experiences, from how they navigate the streets to how they connect with New York itself.

The guide was officially published by NYC DOT and is available to view in full on its website.

Covering everything from public transit and fare assistance to accessible pedestrian crossings, the guide brings together visual storytelling and functional communication to make essential information more approachable for diverse audiences.

Design System
I developed a color-coded editorial system that organizes complex transportation information into distinct chapters.
Through consistent typography, structured information layouts, and purposeful photo treatment, I established a clear visual hierarchy that makes content easy to navigate and understand.
